Description
Storebro Royal Cruiser 470 Baltic – 1990, converted to 515
Build no. 4010 – The boat is in a warm storage in the Oslo area
Engines 2 x Volvo Penta D12 – 2007, installed in 2008, with approximately 800 engine hours today
The boat has undergone extensive renovation in recent years and was originally a Storebro 470 but resembles a new Storebro 515 today, and is largely regarded as a new boat.
In recent years, significant funds have been invested in the boat for renovations and improvements, as well as much new equipment installed on the boat. To make the boat resemble a new 515, original parts and furnishings delivered from the factory in Storebro have been used.
The hull at the rear with the bathing platform was rebuilt in 2010/11 with original parts, identical to 515, while the flybridge was also remodeled with a roof over the aft deck, also identical to 515.
During the years 2017-18, the boat received extensive upgrades, the engines were removed for renovation of the engine room, and the engines were thoroughly inspected including cleaning of the oil cooler, the turbos were sent for service, sea water pumps were inspected, etc.
New fuel tanks were manufactured and installed, and new through-hulls were installed, all hoses for water and diesel were replaced, sea water filter was changed, new packing boxes and cutless bearings were installed.
New floors in the engine room were installed and painted, with new insulation so the engine room was completely renewed.
New toilets with a new septic tank as well as replacement of through-hulls and hoses.
The generator was removed and completely checked with new exhaust muffler and a water separator was also installed.
The window vents between the deck and fender list were completely removed to resemble the new 515.
The entrance area was completely rebuilt with a new original door in acid-proof steel, the same as on the 515, and the remaining windows were also replaced with 515 originals in acid-proof steel.
A new instrument panel, the same as in the 515, was installed.
The teak deck was renovated, all teak plugs were replaced, and some teak strips were also replaced with new ones, and the deck was sanded.
The external mahogany was replaced with new railings on the aft deck as well as new decals on the deckhouse; this was delivered new from the Storebro factory.
Most of the interior was replaced with entirely new 515 furnishings from Storebro; all textiles, mattresses for the beds, etc., were also replaced.
New navigation, plotter, radar, autopilot, instrument panel on the flybridge, plexiglass on the aft deck, and new deck hatches in stainless steel were replaced with new ones in 2018.
A considerable amount of money and labor has been invested in the boat, which the owner is well aware of, as the asking price is nowhere near what has been invested, so a new owner will get a fantastic boat that will be discovered during the inspection, looking like a new 515 at a very reasonable price.
